5 Tips For Brunettes Going Blonde

As a natural brunette, I always dreamed of the day I would be blonde. This is not an exaggeration.

You always hear that blondes have more fun, but that's not why I wanted to be blonde. See, my mother is a natural brunette (her hair is the darkest shade, closest to black), but she was always the perfect shade of golden blonde.

I remember as a kid I thought she was a Latina Barbie. She was my hero and my role model. She listened to techno, hit the gym religiously, managed an entire clothing factory in QC, wore the highest heels, and never needed a stitch of makeup.

Naturally, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, and I have always wanted to look just like my mom.

I tried (I can't even count, how many times) to go blonde, but it never worked out. My hair was always too fried in the process, or too brassy. Until now!

Now, I am the perfect shade for my skin / brow color. It's my hair dreams come true. Ha-ha.

Here's how I keep my brunette hair blonde and healthy-

1. I use this sulfate free, cruelty free, vegan, paraben free shampoo + conditioner. Then, once a week I use this purple shampoo.

2. Every time I need a hair wash, I apply this coconut oil to my ends the night before.

3. I sleep with my hair wrapped up in a head wrap to keep the coconut oil from straining my sheets, and when I wakeup the next morning I wash it out.

4. I apply this oil post hair wash.

5. I try and use as little heat as possible. So, I probably style my hair once a week, and keep it in a topknot or ponytail otherwise.

It's that simple. Hope ya'll enjoyed my simple tips for any brunette going blonde. Good luck!
