Girls' Weekend

This past weekend, my best friend and I packed our stuff up, and went away for a trip. It was a girls' trip to be more specific, and one that my tiny daughter got to come away for. There were a lot of emotions. If you don't know this by now, I am a rather emotional and sappy girl. Typical, aye?

We packed all our things into the car, and as we backed out of the driveway, I had a slight panic attack. I had never left my son before. My little sidekick is more like my shadow. Every step I take, he follows, but it was time to give our little girl her very first day of mommy one-on-one. It was great for us, and we needed every second of it. My love for her was uninterrupted, and it was such a beautiful thing.

We laughed and smiled, joked and played, but mostly we ate. . .a lot. There are so many incredible places to see and eat at in Chicago. It's stunning, and if you haven't made the trek up to see it, you really should. It will knock your socks off, I'm sure of it!

  1. I feel the same way about my little man! My husband and I went on an anniversary date and cut it short because we missed him so much!
