Baby Registry Must Haves

(click on items above to be directly linked)

Prepping for baby number two, I sat down & made a list of things we needed, armed with my research + a little more experience in the baby department. Some things we bought for our first we never needed, other things we have to replace, & sadly on a few purchases we have to start from scratch. Here is our list of baby must haves, + things to keep in mind when you're registering for your little sprout.

tips + tricks + lessons learned

One of the mistakes I made when buying our stroller was not buying one that could easily convert from carrying one baby to two. I highly recommend picking a pram that can be a mono when you need, & then smoothly transition into being a duo. Not only will you save yourself from having to buy another stroller when you have more babes, but it will also make it possible to push a smaller load around when you don't need the extra seat.

When we had our first baby I exclusively nursed, & this made it extremely hard to get him to take a bottle when it was time for me to return to work. It also meant that I was the only one getting up with our baby for night feedings. I won't get into it here, but that sucked... so this go around we are taking our Medela pump to the hospital with us. This will ensure that baby learns to take a bottle, is still only fed breast milk, I get some rest, and that me and my husband can feel like we are tag teaming the two baby train!

We didn't buy a rocker with our first son... we should have, but we didn't so now we are. I recommend one that is extremely wide for you accommodating nursing mommas, + also very padded since you will probably be passing out in it.

We bought a Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy bag to prep for our son, & it was such a great purchase for a newborn because it has pockets to fit frozen breast milk, diapers, wipes, & then has an attached changing pad. Between the changing pad + the backpack option I will forever sing PPB heavenly praises.

We never bought a "diaper pail." Instead we bought an airtight lid covered garbage can. This was hands down one of the greatest ideas. We didn't have to deal with buying special garbage bags, or not twisting enough to get the right seal between diapers, or breaking the expensive pail because I break everything. Being half brain dead (as i tend to be with a newborn) I  just wanted easy solutions for everything. This was the perfect solution in the baby pooh department.

If you are expecting congrats! Remember momma knows best, & to follow your heart. You know better than anyone else what your baby needs. Rock out momma!
