It takes a village

It takes a village to raise a kid, and luckily for us we have some amazing neighbors. The kind of neighbors you can talk to for hours while your dogs chase each other, and your kids laugh together.

Mellie will crawl through the fence to her friends (who are really dogs nearly twice her size) to play. DC will run to Miss Holly down the way and ask her to play. The small "village" we have in our neighbors is something I will forever be grateful for. DC has even learned how to howl just like BB (the neighbor dog). Every morning he will meet her at the fence and give her a howl to let her know he gets it. Hashtag- being fenced in is no fun. Hashtag- let me out mom.

When you are young, wild and free, or really just babyless, you think you are invincible. You can go anywhere. Do anything. You feel as though you need no one...or maybe that was just me when I was a hormonal teenage girl... moving right along, I never understood the saying "it takes a village" until I had our son.

Being a mom is no joke, and really does change you so stinking much! So if you are thinking about having a baby, I say go for it! It made me way cooler than I ever was...but seriously.
