I'm overcome with emotion

Here are some things I learned about being a parent this past week-

1. All fluids that come out of a newborn (except for poop) are like water. Drool can get all over my hand or shirt, and leave me completely unfazed. Her pee can cover my sheets, eh, ain't no thang. Just pop those bad boys in the wash. Baby spit up… what, that's not a moisturizer?

2. When your toddler is throwing a tantrum, the best thing you can do is ignore it. Eventually, when they open their eyes from the scream cry of death, and see no one is looking, a funny thing happens. They stop crying, and go back to playing cars. What no one cares? Meh, alright. Where is my firetruck?

3. When cleaning up a blowout, the best thing you can do for everyone involved is cut the onesie off, and pretend like you never paid those two dollars for it at Old Navy. #clearance because #blowouts

So there you have it folks. Here are my parent lessons from the week past, and, man, I think they're some pretty helpful ones. #cheers

  1. My mom has said that she employed #2 when I was a kid and it worked because we never really threw tantrums. We're nearing tantrum age, hoping it works around here too!
